I currently live in Salt Lake City where I am a graduate student in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Utah. I study cancer genomics using matrix and tensor decompositions. When I'm not in lab, I love to explore the mountains right outside my doorstep by any means possible: hiking, biking, and rock climbing in the summer, and skiing in the winter.
Before moving west in 2012, I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia in beautiful Charlottesville where I majored in biomedical engineering and minored in engineering business, and was an active member of the dance program. I was also involved with research in cardiac biomechanics and cancer proteomics, which is where my love for applying computational methods to complex biomedical problems was born.
I grew up in Newtown, Connecticut -- a small town packed with New England charm and great friends.
